Kate Middleton is a perfect example of how women’s fashion can be both feminine and fun, all while maintaining professional and classy looks. Her unique, regal style has deemed her one of the best-dressed royals alongside her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. From red carpet gowns to casual everyday outfits, Kate always presents herself with style and grace.

Choosing the top 10 of her iconic looks is no easy task, but we’ve picked some leading contenders.

Pretty in polka-dots

Princess Kate wore a classic black-and-white look to the Order of the Garter last year. The polka-dot dress by British designer Alessandra Rich is one of many polka-dotted looks Kate has dressed in over the years. For the event, she even paired the dress with dangling pearl earrings that formerly belonged to Princess Diana.

 A feminine frock

Middleton’s flowy and feminine dress for the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Rajwa Al Saif quickly rose to the top of fan favorite dresses worn by the Princess. She looked enchanting and elegant in the dusty rose Elie Saab maxi. She paired it simply with gold earrings and a matching clutch.

From couture to casual

Even when switching from royal balls to hands on work, Middleton still maintains her beautiful sense of style. She visited Scotland last year to do volunteer work, bundled in a forest green quilted Burberry jacket. The jacket felt very true to classic British style, but also elevated and modernized when paired with simple flare jeans and everyday boots

Monochromatic moment

No one does monochromatic looks as effortlessly as the Princess. She looked stunning at the 2023 Christmas Morning Service at Sandringham Church in an all-blue outfit. While a monochromatic outfit is a hard one to pull off, Middleton never seems to miss when choosing a one-color look.

An ode to Princess Diana

Princess Kate made her debut after giving birth to her firstborn baby boy, in a blue and white polka dot dress back in 2013. The casual mini dress was a sentimental message for many, as it strongly resembled the dress Princess Diana wore leaving the hospital 30 years prior after William’s birth.

Beauty in black

Princess Kate’s jaw-dropping Alexander McQueen gown looked gorgeous at a 2019 fundraising event. The black lace dress, paired with statement earrings and a black clutch, had the perfect balance of classiness and sexiness for the black-tie event.

Royal and recycled

Kate shocked fans when she attended the 2023 Buckingham Palace Garden Party, re-wearing a look she first appeared in back in 2019. The Elie Saab blouse and skirt featured metallic dots to match Kate’s silver shoes and clutch. The light blue outfit and floral hat matched the garden party essence to a tee. This dress is one of a few recycled looks worn by the Princess, making her all the more real and relatable.

Glistening in gold

The Princess stepped out of her comfort zone when she hit the red carpet in this Jenny Packham sequin cape-style gown. Middleton wore the all gold, Bond girl inspired, dress to the No Time to Die film premiere in 2021. She stayed true to her simple and clean style with an updo and light jewelry, while wowing the crowd with a bold dress for the festive event.

Regal in red

The Princess appeared regal in another monochromatic look at London’s Horse Guards Parade in 2023. The Princess stunned in a cherry-red Catherine Walker cape coat-dress, finished with an asymmetrical bow. The daring color covered the whole look from head to toe, as the Princess appeared both professional and vibrant.

The royal wedding

Last, but certainly not least, Princess Kate’s fashion simply cannot be discussed without mentioning her stunning white lace wedding gown. Middleton looked like true royalty in the dress designed for her by Alexander McQueen’s creative director, Sarah Burton. The dress, veil and accessories complimented Kate’s class and beauty perfectly on her and Prince William’s big day.
