7 ways to dress femininely and artistically

Whatever the fashionistas claim, the exciting and liberating truth is that there isn’t just one way to dress femininely. Here are seven ways for your wardrobe to reflect your femininity artistically!

The importance of biological beauty
There’s a science to attraction. When you have flushed cheeks, it signals vitality, youth, and even fertile blood flow. In the West, a nice tan signals health, wealth, and an easygoing relaxed demeanor. Get a blush that does both. The right blush can enhance your cheeks and be swept over your eyelids for an overall glow.
By drawing attention to your eyes through mascara, manicured brows, or an eyelash curler, you invite those around you to see your humanity by looking into your eyes. Female cartoon characters have noticeably large eyes and lashes. Women are meant to be receptive, nurturing and lifegiving. Eyes are said to be the windows to the soul, so enhancing our eyes is not just a flirtatious come hither, but an invitation for others to see into the depths of who we are.

Wear lighter neutrals
Dark, intense charcoal and grays lean more masculine and powerful. To channel your femininity with ease, try some light pastels, creams, and browns for basics. Whether it’s a windbreaker or a lounge set, try a muted, light shade for a more soft, gentle, and feminine touch.

If not an interesting color, add interesting texture
Women are lifegiving! We have a natural gift for creativity and beautification. Of course, this applies to what we put on our bodies.
Give your outfits a focal point. Choose a tulle skirt, a silk top, or sheer sleeves. I’m giving you permission to buy those metallic ballet flats or snake-skin kitten heels, or whatever exciting piece is on your wishlist. Let your creativity shine. A bright pop of color in your shoes, bag, or clothes can enhance your confidence.

Start with the silhouette
What do all the old Hollywood starlets have in common? They wore fitted clothing. It wasn’t overly revealing, but it commanded respect without hiding their womanly figures. Whether it’s a button down shirt or a pencil skirt, accentuating your waist is a great option for highlighting your femininity.
Choose pieces that highlight unique features of the female physique — neck, collarbone, wrists. These features automatically stand out and signal femininity without ever having to lift a finger.

Hair is a styling decision, not an afterthought
Ever heard of hair theory? How you wear your hair impacts how you are perceived differently by people. Hair slick back in a bun, she means business. Hair loose in waves, she’s carefree. People’s opinions and trends come and go, but it’s still a fun experiment to try different styles.

The power of a well-chosen detail
Ruffles. A Peter Pan collar. Silk scarves. Robust floral prints. A beaded belt. Whatever accessories bring you joy, you should add them into your outfit. Remember, the most feminine outfits are often the ones that are most thoughtful.
Take time to make yourself look put together. Maybe your blouse matches the color of your eyes or the pattern of your skirt matches your handbag. Whether you wear that heirloom necklace or flaunt a thrifted find, the unique way that you arrange your clothes is not only chic, but unrepeatable.

Respect the power of the skirt
Don’t want to wear dresses every day? A skirt does the trick and somehow feels pulled together, classy, and casual all at once. This past summer, I tried to wear dresses more often. It was wonderful. I felt free and beautiful, and had many more doors opened for me.
Flowy fabrics and long hemlines ask for respect, romance, and even a little whimsy. After all, we shouldn’t be afraid to embrace that we are, in fact, women.
