A good sports movie is a celebration of natural virtue and human perseverance. But some of the most well-known sports films are geared towards adults or older teens, making it hard to include the youngest family members in movie night. 

These movie suggestions are perfect for an energizing and inspiring family movie night!

Mighty Macs (2009)

This sentimental film follows the coach of an underdog basketball team at a small Catholic college. The story is a stellar example of the positive difference that a coach can make in the lives of the players.

Soul Surfer (2011)

Soul Surfer tells the true story of professional surfer Bethany Hamilton. It demonstrates her courage and perseverance after facing a major setback. Viewers note: Although the content is generally appropriate for all ages, younger viewers may find the shark attack scene to be too frightening.

Angels in the Infield (2000)

Angels in the Infield follows the challenges of a divorced professional pitcher in his efforts to build a relationship with his ballet-loving daughter. The story is heartwarming and funny and shows significant character growth.

A Mile In His Shoes (2011)
